FAQs: Junior Domestic

GENERAL QUESTIONS:

  • PLAYHQ Setup

During the registration process a parent will be required to set up a new PlayHQ Profile Account.  After successfully doing so you will then be able to register your son/daughter as a family member/dependent and quickly complete registration.  (**It is important to note, that when registering you MUST first set up a PlayHQ account as a parent).  If a PlayHQ Profile Account has already been set up for registration to another basketball competition, then the same PlayHQ Profile Account should be used for this and all other registrations.

Please use an email that you will likely have long term (i.e. a personal one and not work or education).  You will need this to log into your account in the future. You are also able to add an additional parent to each child’s account if you wish.

To create your PlayHQ account, please go to: https://www.playhq.com/signup

    1. Fill in the form

    2. Press on the Sign-Up icon

  • Yes, friendship requests can be made via your registration form. For friendship requests to be guaranteed, they must be reciprocated. If your child is playing as part of a friendship team, please list all team members in the registration form. Friendship teams must have 7, but preferably 8, players and a coach.

  • No, we do not accommodate training venue requests. Many factors are considered when determining a training venue for each team and we are unable to a include player requests in these considerations.

  • We rely on volunteers to coach our teams and every team MUST have a coach. If you are interested in coaching, please complete your details here.

Each team also requires a Team Manager and they will be appointed after teams are announced.

  • Teams will be sent to coaches in the last week of Term 1. Coaches will then reach out to their teams to advise team members of team lists and the training time and venue.

  • Coaches or Team Managers need to contact the appropriate coordinator who will be able to assist in finding a fill-in for teams who have less than six players. There are rules around who is eligible to fill in so to avoid using an ineligible player, please do not source your own fill-ins.

  • Yes, teams can play with four players. If your team is down to four and a suitable fill-in cannot be found, the expectation is that you would play with four players.

  • If all options for an eligible fill-in have been exhausted and you find yourself with only three available players, please advise the appropriate coordinator. Repeat walkover fines will be passed onto teams.

  • We hold uniform days prior to the beginning of each season. Dates and times will be communicated to members once teams have been released.

If you require any uniform pieces during the season please email Marilyn at uniforms@blackburnvikings.com
