The team at Blackburn Vikings Basketball Association (BVBA) is growing. We are seeking individuals with a passion for community sport and a drive to promote basketball in a positive and inclusive environment.
ABOUT US: Blackburn Vikings Basketball Association is a not-for-profit basketball club based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The Association has a proud history of offering players the opportunity to play basketball from our development programs through to domestic, junior representative and senior representative competitions. We also offer an O’35s competition.
BVBA currently has 190 domestic teams playing across the EDJBA and MEBA competitions, 23 VJBL representative teams and 4 Senior Big V Teams with over 1600 players registered at the club. We will also enter teams in the EDL for the upcoming season.

Expression of Interest – Venue Supervisor
Blackburn Vikings Basketball is currently seeking expression of interest for Venue Supervisors for their stadiums during the week. It involves looking after the allocated venue and any equipment owned by Blackburn Vikings Basketball while the competition is running.
Other Roles and Responsibilities include:
Set up and pack up of the venue, including picking up necessary equipment for the venue.
Keeping IPads charged during competition and making sure the correct sized basketball is ready for the fixtured games.
For relevant competitions, making sure teams have paid before the game.
Upholding requirements when it comes to behaviour management and escorting those in breach of requirements out of the stadium when deemed necessary. This will be determined with the referees.
As you are our point of contact during competition hours, assist parents, players or spectators with any questions.
Help keep the courts clean and tidy during the shift.
We are looking for people who have the following qualities:
Great customer service and communication skills.
Able to manage time effectively.
Be able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
Have excellent problem solving skills.
Knowledge of Domestic or VJBL competitions.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Are reliable and dependable.
Must have (or willingness to obtain):
Victorian Driver’s Licence
Working With Children’s Check
First Aid Certificate
The role will involve predominately weekend work and some late nights. Supervisors can be rostered across various stadiums in the Blackburn area.
