Midweek - MELBOURNE EASTERN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (MEBA)

Blackburn Vikings field teams in both the girls’ and boys’ competitions.  Many of the MEBA weeknight games are played at the Nunawading Basketball Centre, Forest Hill Secondary College and Mullauna Secondary College.  There are some other satellite venues where games may occasionally be scheduled.

We rely on volunteers to coach our all of our teams and without our volunteer coaches we would be unable to enter the number of teams we can each season. If you are considering coaching in the upcoming season and would like further information, please email coaching@blackburnvikings.com

SUMMER 2026/27 REGISTRATION FEES:

Introduction of New Fee Structure: From the Summer 2026/27 season, weekly team sheet fees will be integrated into the fees paid at registration. Families will no longer be required to pay the weekly team sheets via Teampay.

PlayHQ offers a payment plan for families who would like to opt in to that. Payment has been set up so that the $160 registration fee and any other Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia fees are due at registration and then by selecting ‘Pay In Instalments’, the weekly team sheet component will be spread over six monthly payments (up until 19th February).

Families who prefer to pay the full amount at once are also able to do that.

***We ask that any boys who plan to try out for VJBL do not register for a MEBA Friday night team - please register your details here and we will contact you at the end of VJBL tryouts to see if you will require a place on a MEBA team.***

Season dates: Monday 5th October 2026 to Monday 22nd March 2027.

Midweek schedule:
Monday:          U08 - U19 Girls Competition (Mon 5th Oct 2026 to Mon 22nd Mar 2027)
Friday:             U08 - U19 Boys competition (Fri 9th Oct 2026 to Fri 19th March 2027)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Custom/Friendship team: If your child wishes to play as part of a custom or friendship team, the team must have a minimum of 7 players and a coach. The team will need to be emailed through to midweekcomps@blackburnvikings.com

• Friendship requests: Please ensure you list any friends you would like to play with in your registration form.

• Training sessions are held from 4pm Monday to Thursday. The more availability you have for training, the better chance we have to meet other requests, such as friendship requests. Please ensure you list as much information as possible regarding your training availability.
