Registrations for the Blackburn Vikings VJBL Tryouts are now open.

New Player Tryouts: Please note, on Thursday 18th September we ran New Player Tryouts for BU12, BU14 & BU16. These tryouts were compulsory for any players in these age groups who were new to VJBL (had not played VJBL for Blackburn or another club in previous seasons). Players in BU12, BU14 and BU16 who did not attend the new to VJBL player tryout are not eligible to register for the 2025.26 tryouts.
Details regarding the U20s tryouts will be released at a later date.
tryout information:
All players will need to be registered to attend. We are unable to accept walk-ins.
Players need to attend all tryouts unless advised otherwise.
Please ensure you obtain a Permission to Train (PTT) prior to attending if you have played VJBL elsewhere previously. We are unable to allow players to try out without a PTT. The PTT form will be available from Monday 22nd September 2025, via the VJBL website.
Please ensure you bring a drink bottle and the correct size basketball.
All players need to wear a reversible light/dark training singlet. Players can wear their domestic singlet.
Please ensure you read through our TRYOUT GUIDELINES prior to attending our tryouts. Your attendance at our Representative Tryouts acknowledges that you have read and understand these guidelines.
TRYOUT ABSENCE:
It is expected that players are available for all tryouts. If you will be absent from a tryout (this includes needing to arrive late or leave early), please register your absence here. Failure to do so will relinquish your place in our tryout process.
age groups:
Under 12 - 2015, 2016 & 2017 (Eligible players must not turn 12 in 2026)
Under 14 - 2013 & 2014 (Eligible players must not turn 14 in 2026)
Under 16 - 2011 & 2012 (Eligible players must not turn 16 in 2026)
Under 18 - 2009 & 2010 (Eligible players must not turn 18 in 2026)
Under 20 - 2007 & 2008 (Eligible players must not turn 20 in 2026)
Players born in 2018 or later are not eligible to play VJBL in 2025/26
